After being diagnosed in 2008 with a chronic illness with no cure and limited research, you can imagine the struggle. Sometimes it runs your life and then there are other times where it will disappear in the back seat. A disease that affects your mind, body, heart and soul is a hard one to grasp. But everyday you find that little bit of hope to keep pushing. Especially when you have support. This year my goal is to raise awareness to Fibromylagia in hopes that people become aware and knowledgeable. This is a disease. One you can't see but I feel and fight it every day.
This year I will be taking part in my first walk to raise awareness and am asking for donations. No donation is too small. Please share and help support this great cause.
The Caterpillar Walk program is a fundraising campaign designed to raise awareness and support for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain. 100% of proceeds raised will support The Fibromyalgia Care Society of America. One of the greatest challenges of this syndrome is the lack of awareness and supportive services available for people living with this chronic illness and their families. The Fibromyalgia Care Society of America has launched this year's theme: Join the Movement, One Step At A Time. Our goal is to help bring the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain community together. The NYC Caterpillar Walk will take place on Saturday May 7th. Registration: 9:00 am Where: Hudson River Park (on the river by 23rd Street & West Side Highway) Welcome, Announcements & Awards: 9:45 am Walk Start: 10:00 am followed by finish line photos, entertainment and an afterparty. Click "Join" to register as a walker or create your own Walk Team. Registration is $25.
All Walkers will enjoy a performance by Bobby Long, photo booth, face painting, CW T-shirt, Medal, the opportunity to network with other patients and hear from this year's Medical Expert-Dr. Michael Cooney of Calmare NJ.
