Sad, sad, sad. I sit in a chair and work at a computer hardly getting up during the day. So, a lump on a log describes my activity on workdays. It does improve on weekends, when out and about, but I am usually still well below the goal of 10,000 steps a day for a healthy lifestyle. I put on this snazy new pedometer for a couple of days before the challenge starts and saw about 5000 steps on Sunday and 3000 steps on Monday! Better than expected, but way below my target. How will I ever average 10,000 a day? That's my goal! For some, this may be the norm, but for me this is a huge increase in activity. So, some ideas - I will walk to work! I'm not sure what that will earn me in steps, but I will need to get up earlier in the morning! Rise and shine and carry a change of shoes. We will see how this goes when the temperature reaches the 90's. This is all for a good cause, UNICEF. Please donate what you are able to support UNICEF and help me be motivated to to triple my steps. I'll let you know periodically how it goes, but my first efforts will likely fall short until I figure out how I need to alter my day to meet this goal. THANK YOU
