“Walk Me Home… to the place I belong” is the signature fundraising and awareness event for foster care in Kansas. Participating in this event is a great way to support more than 1,400 children in foster care in the Kansas City metro area!
This year hundreds of people will participate in Walk Me Home, raising funds to benefit children in foster care in Kansas City. The race will begin at 9:00 a.m., with walk-up registration starting at 7:30 a.m. KVC is excited to announce that the 3rd Annual KVC Walk Me Home 5K Run/Walk will be held at Sporting Park in Kansas City! The race will take place on the Sprint Plaza and continue along the concourse of Sporting KC’s arena. Join us after the race in the Shield Club for a presentation of race medals and post-race snacks from our vendors.
Adults can register for $30 and children 12 and under can sign up for $15! Each participant will receive a Walk Me Home t-shirt, swag bag, and participant medal. There will also be water and snack foods provided by local vendors.
All proceeds of Walk Me Home will directly impact the lives of foster children in many ways including covering the costs for summer camps, recreational sports and equipment, music lessons, prom dresses and tuxedos for high school students, driver education and other expenses their foster families are unable to provide. Proceeds will also support innovative ideas to enhance our family training programs.
