A Wild Cause to support the Detroit Zoological Society!
Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo raises critical funds for the Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and the veterinary care for the animals at the Detroit Zoo.
Join thousands of runners and walkers as they lace up their running shoes for the annual Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo, sponsored by Ford, on Sunday, September 13, 2015! The event includes 5K and 10K runs, the Too Wild! 5K+10K combo, plus a noncompetitive 1.5-mile Fun Walk. Runners in the 5K and 10K events start at the Zoo’s 10 Mile Road entrance and wind through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods surrounding the Zoo. Walkers follow a course past award-winning animal habitats as they stroll through Zoo grounds.
If your friends or family want to support our cause but can't make it to the race, or if they simply want to cheer you on as you help out a worthy organization, it's now possible for them to sponsor you for the event through a donation. The money will go toward taking care of the Zoo animals – the next best thing to running in the race.
Each individual who raises $150 or more will receive a Detroit Zoo plush and water bottle. The three individuals raising the most funds will receive a special Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo gift pack, including four tickets for a day at the Zoo.
