I will be doing this with a group of children from the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Center. This is no easy feat and will push everyone to their limits. Each of these children have come from extraordinary circumstances. The opportunity to climb a mountain with them and help them to be successful is such an empowering experience for everyone involved. It is a life changer!
I hope to raise $10,000 to go to the Fund for the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Centre. This is a US-based non-profit located in Haines, Alaska. I have no timeline to raise this amount of money and I ask that any future gifts from family or friends be directed to this cause. Your money goes a long way in Africa and any donation amount is greatly appreciated.
Tanzania has been ravaged by AIDS/HIV. Millions of adults between the ages of 25 and 50 have died of the disease, leaving behind and estimated two million orphaned children. I hope to create awareness of this horrible circumstance and raise money to help expand the Kilimanjaro Orphanage in Moshi, Tanzania. It has reached its capacity to house and care for additional children at its current location and needs to expand. The need is great.
The money you donate does not go to financing my own travel or the cost of the expedition in anyway. I will pay 100% of my own expenses. Your donation (outside of small transaction fees applied by fundraising websites) will go directly to the Center and will be reserved for the building costs of the new orphanage facility.
And Thank You Thank You Thank You.
