Swim to the Moon is an open-water swimming event through the Hiland Chain of Lakes near Hell, Michigan. Participants choose their distance — half mile, 1.2 mile, 5K, or 10K — and swim through a series of connected lakes. I swim the 10K race, which takes about 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete The event is held to support a very worthy cause: North Star Reach, a camp for children with life-threatening, serious, and chronic medical conditions. The children who attend camp at North Star reach truly need this program, because of their health situations, they are otherwise unable to participate in a summer camp experience. With college rapidly approaching I believe this will be my last opportunity to compete in the event and since I have taken so much enjoyment from it in the past, I wanted to try and give back by becoming a fundraiser this year and I’m hoping you can help support this wonderful cause. If you can offer any support at all, it would be greatly appreciated.
