BENEFITING: Interfaith Social Services Inc.
Many of you know that I've served on the fundraising committee for the Interfaith Social Services (ISS) Feed the Hungry Gala for the past three years. Whenever I'm feeling down or frustrated, the agency never fails to inspire me with the important work it does in the community and the clients it serves. As a member of the Feed the Hungry Gala Committee, I am helping to raise money to provide food and groceries for my neighbors, diapers for young children whose families depend on Interfaith’s food pantry, mental health counseling for individuals who would otherwise have had nowhere else to turn, and backpacks, Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving meals, and Christmas presents to the families that Interfaith serves. My goal is to raise $1,000 for this year’s Gala, which will will provide 568 Bags of Groceries for Local Families, 1 Week Worth of Food for 240 Households, or prevent homelessness for 1 South Shore Family. Interfaith helps thousands of local South Shore families put food on their tables, get life and career counseling, and find emergency housing. Interfaith serves many towns across the greater South Shore, however this charity impacts our very own neighbors too. Nearly 700 people in Hingham, Cohasset Scituate and Hull received assistance last year, and more than half were children and seniors. Make a donation here to support this effort.
