BENEFITING: Transverse Myelitis Association
EVENT: 2016 Ohio Walk-Run-N-Roll
EVENT DATE: May 21, 2016
It's been almost 3 years since I participated in my first organized 5K, post optic neuritis/ neuromyelitis spectrum disorder. It was a fun run/walk where every 1/2 K you got blasted with a rainbow of cornstarch. It was such an incredible day; so many of the strong women in our family showed up, held me up and finished last with me. It wasn't really a race for me; more of a statement: yes, I can! Great thing about finishing last: Proof of Completing the 5 K as we had our very own police escort!! WOOT WOOT!
On May 21, I will be walking in my 2nd organized walk post optic neuritis/ neuromyelitis spectrum disorder. Our family has been walking the neuro immunological-tightrope for the better part of two decades. When we first began our search for reliable, current information, it was the TMA that provided it; and the avenue to network with others searching for the same. So, this walk is all about 'I WILL! I will give back to those who have helped me along the journey.' I hope you will consider donating to the Transverse Myelitis Association ,so they can continue helping those with these rare neuro-immunological disorders. Wouldn't it be great if we could send a family to camp?!
