Andrew (Andy) Ecker was a truly remarkable human being. Aside from being extremely intelligent, he was also fun, loving, motivated and admirable in so many ways. Andy was diagnosed in 2011 at the age of 24. He started chemotherapy on his 25th birthday, and after a four-year-long brave battle with brain cancer, Andy passed away on July 24th, 2015. Throughout his battle against pediatric cancer, Andy met many children facing similar battles. Andy developed a love for children and admiration for the strength these children possessed. Although he cannot be here to join us physically, I know that he is so proud of the efforts we are making to help children with cancer and their families.
