Kendel to Kenya
Organized by: Kendel Bryant
EVENT DATE Feb 17, 2015
I will be traveling to Kisumu, Kenya February 17-28, 2015 with approximately 24 members and friends of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Midwood Baptist Church to participate in a short-term mission project called Houses of Hope. As a mission team, we will be building houses for needy families that consist of widows, many of whom have been forced to move back to their places of birth after their husbands have died from HIV/AIDS. We will also have an opportunity to minister to the children in the community and a local orphanage that too have been affected by HIV/AIDS by engaging them in Bible study and activities, providing necessities such as food and uniforms for school and providing HOPE by praying for them and encouraging them. Our goal is to build as many houses as possible and fulfill other needs in the communities in which we will be serving. The total cost per person is $3,500 and each participant is expected to come out of pocket for the expenses or secure sponsorships and donations. The cost includes airfare, lodging, immunizations, some meals and supplies. Also $400 of each person’s cost will be set aside to fund the build of one house.
“The ask” is if you are able to assist in my endeavor, I’d gladly appreciate it. I have set up this account to make it easier to accept donations online. If you prefer to send a check , those are also accepted and should be made payable to Ebenezer Baptist Church, memo line Kenya Missions – Kendel Bryant. The address is provided below:

All donations are tax deductible. A letter to include your donation amount along with the tax Identification number will be supplied before the end of the calendar year. Because the total cost must be paid in full by the end of November, I am asking for monies to be received by October 1st, 2014, if possible.
As many of you know, community service is my passion. I love nothing more than helping those in need and God has led me to participate in this opportunity. I truly feel that this initiative is what I need to help me grow as a person by helping others in their time of need by showing them the goodness of God through my acts of selflessness and kindness.
In addition to monetary donations, I am in desperate need of your support and prayers. As we watch the news, we see planes crashing and missionaries contracting deadly diseases and it can become an easy distraction from the main objective, which is to provide HOPE to the families that we come in contact with along the journey and draw them nearer to Christ.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
