EVENT DATE: Jun 06, 2015
Since the beginning of the year, we have been talking to Felice about the concept of charity. Obviously, this is not an easy concept for someone almost 3, but we have been blessed to see her caring nature in development and we would like to encourage it. For a little one that cannot understand allowance yet, but does remember getting presents, we decided to start there. So please join us as we support two incredible causes dear to our heart. When we discussed doing this, and looked up the two organizations, Felice pointed to the kids and the puppies and said, "I want to give those kids my cards (meaning her gifts)", and "I want to help those puppies!"
In Oct 2013, we rescued our pup Marina. For those of you who know our story, it was a big adjustment for our family, but a huge blessing. Marina was rescued by a woman named Mary Choi in Taiwan, who has such a generous and caring passion for rescuing dogs. Mary posts daily youtube videos of her dogs and helps build their fragile confidence with beginning training and exposure to various things to help socialize properly. Marina has become such a prominent member of our family, and as Felice says, "Marina is my favorite doggie!" Watching the two of them bond has been such a special experience. Adopting a dog, was not necessarily easy, but it was so worth it. So we encourage you to look at their page and the pups that are in desperate need of forever homes if you are thinking of adding a wonderful new member to your family, or make a donation to their wonderful cause. We have monthly meetups with the group all around the bay area and it is a lot of fun getting together with our doggie "cousins". http://adoptadoggie.org
The second charity Felice has chosen, she chose to begin with many months ago. We were at church and she found a pamphlet in the pew and brought it to me. She looked at the picture of the hungry child and said, "Mommy she's sad". When we got home, we read the pamphlet together and we talked about how many children and their parents are hungry and don't have clean water to drink. Although she could not completely understand everything, she did take away that they need help, and there was something we could do. So we made a donation together, and she was very happy to be helping the "kids". http://www.foodforthepoor.org/
So please join us as we support these two incredible charities. There are so many worthy causes, we just decided to start here with two of Felice's firsts. Thank you for visiting her page, we will be bringing it up frequently so she can see her progress.
