BENEFITING: Bridges to Prosperity, Inc.
As you know, I founded an organization called Bridges to Prosperity, just about 15 years ago. Bridges to Prosperity works with isolated communities in developing countries to build footbridges, which allow people to safely access schools, clinics, jobs, and markets. I believe passionately that all people should have the opportunity to become self-sufficient, and care for themselves and their families. I know from both published research and from my own experiences in the developing world that footbridges are one of the greatest way we can leverage our resources to ensure that every person, and especially every child, has the opportunity to meet their own basic needs. This summer, Bridges to Prosperity staff and volunteers are busy completing more than 25 bridges that have been in planning since last year. At the same time, we are partnering with communities in Nicaragua, Panama, Bolivia, Rwanda, and Haiti to prioritize sites for our next build season, which begins in October. In this upcoming year, we have the opportunity to build enough bridges to serve more than 100,000 people in new communities--we only need the resources to do it. Cheri and I have committed to raising $150,000 toward this effort. We have contributed the first $75,000 and are looking to our friends and network to help us raise the remaining $75,000 before August 15th. Please join us!
