BENEFITING: Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi
My daughter, Kennedy, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in October of 2014. She was just two weeks shy of her 11th birthday. The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi has been right there with support for Kennedy and our family since her diagnosis, putting us in contact with other families in our area that are going through the same daily struggle as we are. They send children, who could not otherwise attend, to Kamp Kandu, a diabetes education camp at Twin Lakes campground. This camp allows kids to come and just be kids and not be a "diabetic" kid all while parents are introduced to other parents and caregivers of children with type 1. They make available supplies, insulin, and other medications that adult and pediatric diabetic patients need, that they can't otherwise afford. They offer education to schools, all this, free of charge! Please help Kennedy and I help the DFM. They have helped us in so many ways!
