Happy Life takes in and cares for abandoned Kenyan children. Child abandonment is an epidemic in Kenya. Mothers will walk right out of the hospital after delivering a baby, even after a Cesarian section. It is not uncommon for babies to be left in a plastic bag or in a roadside ditch. These babies often die from hypothermia, dehydration, or illnesses related to their malnutrition.
Happy Life's goals are:
To bring new hope to abandoned children
To provide the babies with quality caregivers who love the babies and their Lord
To meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of each child
To create a “family” atmosphere for the children within the Home and within the church
To have each child adopted by a Christian family
During my stay my responsibilities will include feeding, bathing, dressing the children, as well as engaging them in various play activities. I will also be helping with laundry, cooking, and cleaning. Some home renovation and painting may be done also.
