Kerianne's Kenya Adventure
Organized by: Kerianne Ludeman
The final (month) countdown.
May 16, 2016
While going to Africa period would be quite the adventure, this is a special request. This summer I will be going to Kenya with Marafiki Africa, a charity devoted to creating lasting changes to help remote villages and the families within them. Unlike a resort safari vacation, volunteers stay in tents and work with villagers in order to improve common life necessities that we often take for granted-- safe drinking water, teaching personal hygiene and basic medical care, building houses to enable teachers to be sent to their villages, as well as delivering items such as personal hygiene kits, books and other materials. Marafiki Africa strives to create sustainable improvements within the villages, and works hand-in-hand with local leaders and government officials. While this fundraising campaign covers program costs, which pays for materials, transportation, food and a few additional costs while in the country, I still will be paying for my flight and a few additional costs. This experience would be a blessing for myself and for those receiving the service, so I would greatly appreciate any donation amounts. God bless you for helping to forge change in a country that lacks our daily luxuries, and for being so giving. Thank you!
Any donations are accepted. If you would like to donate hygiene items, books or other materials, those are also gratefully accepted. Just contact Kerianne.
