Kern County Animal Services is a system of municipal shelters in Kern County and operates 3 shelters: Mojave, Lake Isabella, and Bakersfield.

Kern County Animal Services is one of the largest organizations on the Centeral Valley that rescues, houses and cares for lost and abandoned animals, enforces animal-related laws and acts to prevent curelty to animals.

In additon to field and sheltering services, we have a variety of programs to assist the public in being a responsible pet owner and to help shelter pets including:

Low-cost vaccination. licensing and microchipping clinics

Foster Program

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for low-income residents

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Program

Animal Rescue Program
