BENEFITING: Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee
Hi everyone! My birthday is January 26th and I couldn't decide how to celebrate my birthday. Then I remembered my Year of Fabulous Love and how cool it was to help bring clean drinking water to people who need it. I want this birthday to be just as cool so found another cause near and dear to my heart - elephants!!!
The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, founded in 1995, is the nation's largest natural habitat refuge developed specifically for endangered African and Asian elephants. The Sanctuary operates on 2,700 acres in Hohenwald, Tennessee — 85 miles southwest of Nashville. The Elephant Sanctuary exists for two reasons: 1. To provide a haven for old, sick or needy elephants in a setting of green pastures, dense forests, spring-fed ponds and heated barns for cold winter nights. 2. To provide education about the crisis facing these social, sensitive, passionately intense, playful, complex, exceedingly intelligent and endangered creatures. Instead of birthday gifts, I'm asking you and anyone we know to help me buy peanut butter for elephants! The elephants at the sanctuary love peanut butter and the staff uses it to give the elephants their supplements. We can provide 1,050 lbs of peanut butter for $1,071. Now that’s a birthday present!
My mission is to raise $1,071.00 by the end of February. If each of my almost 900 Facebook friends donates just $1, we’ll reach the goal in no time. At the end of the campaign, I will match the largest donation, up to $500. Thank you for celebrating with me!
