Player: Kevin Kelly - President, PMC Refrigeration
My name is Kevin Kelly and I am the President/Owner of PMC Refrigeration & Electrical, a local contracting company that has been building, remodeling and servicing supermarkets in Northern California & Nevada since 1994. In October, I will be competing in the first annual Capital Cup and joining several other local businessmen raise money for 20 worthy charities. I am personally raising funds for Sutter Hospital’s new Tomosynthesis 3D mammography machine. Due to personal experience, my wife and I are extremely passionate about bringing the very best early detection of breast cancer to all women. As you know, with early detection come greater outcomes!! Most of us in one way or another have been negatively affected by cancer. Unfortunately, my sister passed away from breast cancer at a very early age. She was diligent about getting her mammograms every year. However, the 2-D machine did not detect the cancer until it was stage 4. Technology has come a long way, but not without a price. I feel if my sister and many other women had this machine at their disposal, she and many others would still be with us today. It is exciting that we have the advanced, state-of-the-art technology to make that happen. Tomo 3D allows a look at breast tissue like never before, especially for those with dense breast tissue. The Tomo 3D is able to identify the tiniest of calcifications and tumors which will create a huge leap in even earlier detection! Yes, we all want this machine at our hospital, but it should be available for every woman to use as well.
Sutter Foundation has a limited amount of Tomo 3D machines and is currently raising money to bring more machines into your hospital so every woman will not be denied service. Please help us make that happen and thank you dearly for your generous support.
