Kevin has ridden regularly at Centaur Stride for many years. He is now 35 years old and still in the saddle! Kevin is familiar with and has ridden many of the horses at Centaur Stride. Over the years Gypsy seemed to be the best match for Kevin and the special saddle that has given Kevin the challenge of supporting himself. Gypsy has become Kevin's Saturday morning companion. The benefits to Kevin are numerous. There are the social and recreational aspects of meeting up with old friends and making new friends. The staff at Centaur Stride does not miss a beat; they are always welcoming and accommodate Kevin on his good and not so good days. Being born with a chromosomal disorder called Ring 22, Kevin cannot act upon nor communicate within his environment with ease. Riding Gypsy helps Kevin increase control over his body as he works to control muscles for balance and stability. Kevin's body system has decreased functioning over time, and riding stimulates these systems improving his overall health. We are thankful for Centaur Stride and the enormous support they have given Kevin and us, his parents. We appreciate any financial donations you may be able to give to further assist Centaur Stride's future.
