BENEFITING: BORGEN PROJECT
There is a chance to eliminate worldwide poverty. The most powerful nation on earth can, and should, play a substantial part in achieving that vision. However, doing so depends on an informed public and a substantial shift in public policy for foreign aid. The Borgen Project is doing this. By engaging with Congress and raising public awareness about how the United States can increase international aid, the grassroots nonprofit has become a forceful voice for the world's poorest. As a writer and advocate for The Borgen Project, I attempt to educate the public through writing how poverty is caused and why it is an incredibly abstract concept. Because The Borgen Project is a non-profit, they rely on donations to keep their campaign alive. Each donation is tax deductible and goes to a cause that fights for the most impoverished people around the world.
