Give a chance to Khine.
July 13, 2016

"Given a chance to succeed Khine will go on to be an inspiration to those who follow and a role model for her community." ~ John Leslie Heller, See More

The oldest of six and on the cusp of her 30s, Khine has never given up on her education. She hopes to become a government worker who uses her degree to bring the Myanmar government closer to its people. After high school, when she was sixteen, she left the country and worked as a housemaid in Bangkok, Thailand, to help her parents financially. She felt she had little hope of continuing university degree and wondered how she would educate herself. She looked up every resource she could find in order to get information; she asked questions about how a Burmese migrant could pursue an education. Although she had worked various jobs for many years, most of these roles provided only a minimum salary, and consequently she is not in a position to self-fund my university education. With a 85 % tuition scholarship from university, currently, she is a second-year student studying for a BA in Social Policy and Development at Thammasat University, Thailand. She is looking for financial assistance to cover tuition fee and living expenses in order to complete her first degree. Thank you very much for your donation.
