Dear Family and Friends,
I am Kairi's "Nana" and trying to raise money to help my sweet granddaughter be able to get the special eduction she will need. Kairi is only three years old and she has literally been losing her eyesight since last summer. My sweet granddaughter was diagnosed with a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, defined as an inherited, degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment, due to the progressive degeneration of the rod photoreceptor cells in the retina. This makes us all feel helpless but, we can show her family our support while she is learning how to acclimate to her surroundings as she learns to depend on her other senses.
Kairi has a younger brother who is seven months old and her older brother is five years old. He will stop whatever he is doing when Kairi gets scared and go help her. He is starting to understand that she has problems seeing and will hold her hand to guide her to the slide, regardless of how many times he has to do it. He doesn't complain, he just does it and smiles the whole time.
We appreciate everyone's patience as we pull together all of the information which we will need in order to make the preparations to help my precious granddaughter adjust to her surroundings! Please consider making a donation in support of Kairis journey to learn how to see through her other senses. Thank YOU for your support!
