During the month of June, 2014 my son, AJ was taken by his "grandmother" for a 2 week vacation, from my home, to a few states away. Being a first time mom, the idea was unsettling from the beginning, it would be the first time since conception that we were seperated. After a weeks time there were few returned text messages and very angry phone calls from the Grandmother regarding my son and his well-being, which at that time I decided it best if I drove to pick him up ASAP. Upon arriving to her town I was notified by the towns Sheriff I would be arrested if I were to enter town and try to pick up my son. I was informed then that my son's grandmother had filed a protection order as well as a guardianship case against me.

Devestated by the pure though of being kept from my son unjustly, I contacted every lawyer within 30 miles of where I sat on the roadside to help me in resolving such wrongful doing.

Court was heald after a few weeks and although we stated all reasons for there being no cause and no jurisdiction for the case, judge made no ruling. I was told I was unfit and unstable. I needed to take parenting classes as well as a drug UA and a psychological evaluation to prove to the courts her allegations were false.

Personally, knowing I had nothingto hide I immediately followed through on all fronts. Psych evaluation came back great, drug screening completely negative, took an online parenting class, a 4 hr court approved class as well as a divorce and separation course and Drug & Alcohol abuse course; receiving certificate in each to support.

During the 3 month span of this being drug out one item after another I witnessed my son being neglected and possibly abused. I had to take him to the ER where I found he was running a 102 fever, had a sinus infection, upper respiratory infection and pink eye. There were 5 DR visits to follow in which he had conjuctivitous, cellulitis, and a yeast infection due to irregular and insufficient diaper changing. The grandmother also administered an adult prescription to my toddler because she did not have the money to buy his correct prescription.

During this time, thankfully I had support from family members and my mother was able to assist me in keeping a hotel room to be available for court, visitations and to be close to my son. My mother and I lived in a hotel room in a tiny backwoods town for 3 months battling the judicial system for justice on part of my son and myself, all the while being separated from her husband and other family members.

I finally was rewarded at the end of September by the judge granting my original motion to dismiss from June/July cases, returning my son to his natural mother (me).

Sadly the story does not end there. Once court let out I was to find out that my son had been taken from his daycare earlier and was being kept from me regardless of the court paperwork. Town sheriff would do nothing to enforce, stating paperwork meant nothing.

I finally went to his birth state and found an accomplished lawyer to file for emergency custody and days later was granted the ability to go pick up my son, having to fly out, drive to her home and call deputy to aid in rescue of AJ since her previous non compliance.

AJ is home right now with his mommy, doing well, although suffering trauma and separation anxiety. The battle is not over and already have 3 more flights and court hearings regarding the case and security of my son. At this point the bills and total cost are skyrocketing and in reality for a single mother providing for her son and self on a full time job are looking unrealistic to manage. I'm not one to ask for handouts but I have fought with everything that myself and my family have and at this point I can not risk losing my son again. I am currently working full time in a medical facility, and always have been employed since age 15.

With the money that is donated I would pay off the credit card bills from airline and hotel expenses. I would also put the donations toward my lawyer expenses, which total my yearly income at this time!
