BENEFITING: Kids Cancer Alliance Inc.
For the entire month of September, I will be raising money to support Kids Cancer Alliance in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every day 46 kids will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States. The emotional and financial stress that a cancer diagnosis brings is staggering. Kids Cancer Alliance provides a refuge to these children and families during their darkest days. I have been blessed to get to know these kids since I started volunteering as a cabin counselor at Indian Summer Camp, a week-long camp for kids with cancer in 2008. Indian Summer Camp has been in existence for 35 years - helping kids with cancer create unforgettable memories and make life-long friends at no cost. The love and friendship that abounds at camp is life-changing for both the campers and volunteers like myself. Whether it's helping a camper catch their first ever fish or hearing the laughter that comes with countless water balloon fights - these kids and this camp are special. A few years ago, Indian Summer Camp became part of the Kids Cancer Alliance organization which allowed these amazing kids and families resources 52 weeks a year. Kids Cancer Alliance provides children with experiences and support that they may not receive elsewhere, FREE to those children and their families. All money donated will go directly to Kids Cancer Alliance in order to fund scholarships for survivors, host family and teen weekend retreats, provide quarterly events for children with cancer, and accept every camper that has the desire to attend their annual summer camps for children with cancer and their siblings. Please help me support this amazing organization. Your donations truly make an impact in these kids lives!
