"Weaver is a community that C.A.R.E.S.! We share a common goal to demonstrate compassion, take action, embrace responsibility, show empathy and give support to people and non-profit organizations at the local, national and global level. We are excited to be be walking and supporting the ALS Guardian Angels. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), sometimes called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscles (muscle action we are able to control, such as those in the arms, legs, and face). The ALS Guardian Angels Foundation is dedicated to helping patients and their families live with ALS while maintaining the best quality of life possible. Our Weaver community has been impacted by ALS. We hope that our partnership with ALSGA will bring awareness and much needed support to the many families who are facing the challenges of ALS.
