BENEFITING: American Coalition for Fathers and Children
EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2013
This fundraiser has been created to help provide legal aide to children and fathers whom are dealing with custodial matters. The end goal is to assist families with young children to establish a custodial arrangement that serves to promote maximum involvement of both parents and let the children of estranged parents create lasting, positive relationships with their fathers.
A noted sociologist, Dr. David Popenoe, pioneered the relatively young field of research into fathers and fatherhood and states, "Fathers are far more than just 'second adults' in the home," he says. "Involved fathers bring positive benefits to their children that no other person is as likely to bring." We firmly believe these words and want to make sure more children have the opportunity to have this meaningful relationship established and retained throughout their lives.
We feel this is especially important today as our society continues to see more and more divorces and separations that leave children lacking the benefit of having two actively engaged parents whom can nurture and act as role models.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of the year (12/31/2013) to use as a general legal fund to assist parents, especially fathers, whom have a strong desire to remain active in their children's lives but may lack the financial resources to retain counsel during their custody proceedings.
We have a duty to the youth of this country to encourage and facilitate father-son/daughter relationships that provide children the opportunity for their fathers to have an active and lasting positive influence in their lives.
Let's not let money stand in the way of another child losing their dad. If you had a great relationship with your dad, or if you didn't and wish another child could, PLEASE DONATE TODAY!
