BENEFITING: NEW ECONOMICS FOR WOMEN
There are many magical moments and experiences that people may encounter throughout their lifetime. One of these is their first trip to Disneyland. This year, "The Happiest Place on Earth" is celebrating 60 years of magic and entertainment. In that time Disneyland, and what it represents, has inspired children and adults to use their imaginations and never stop dreaming. At New Economics for Women, we embrace the same concept and encourage the children in our programs to engage in their environment and create positivism in their lives. For many children, visiting Disneyland is only a dream, especially for most enrolled in NEW’s programs. These children don’t have the luxury of visiting “The Happiest Place on Earth” with their families. Leaving their neighborhoods alone, is a huge step for most of them.
Through recycling efforts and a lot of team work, NEW’s Learning Center hoped to raise enough funds to take its students and staff to Disneyland. In 2006, the First Annual Disneyland Trip became a reality! The more they recycled, the more funds were raised to purchase tickets and to attain the magical journey for dozens of children. The recycling program has been a tremendous success and not only helps to save the planet, but also teaches these children the value of working together to accomplish goals.
In 2015, the Learning Center recycling program generated enough funds to invite 25 children to The Annual Disneyland trip. On Saturday May 16th these children and their parents embarked on a magical journey along with Learning Center staff and volunteers. Everyone experienced excitement and wonder throughout the day's adventures. After 8 hours of non-stop fun and laughter, the children and staff gathered to watch a spectacular performance and were reminded that their imaginations and hard work can contribute to the beauty of their world. We want to invite you to be part of this amazing experience, too. By donating TODAY, you will directly impact the lives of children who are learning new ways to make a difference in their community. NEW's Learning Center recycling program hopes to send 50 children to The 2016 Annual Disneyland trip! Please join us and be part of a child's magical memories…. Donate today!
