Art For Children with Special Needs
“The value of art activities for children with special needs can't be overemphasized! They provide all young children, and especially children with special needs, with an outlet for expression and creativity that enhances learning. Art activities are good ways to foster self-esteem. Because no work of art is ever "wrong," children with special needs don't need to worry that their art won't be "as good as" others!” by Merle Karnes Ph.D
OurVision This program is primarily intended for a group of children with limited access to activities in the arts. It will provide activities, training and opportunities in art for children with special needs. The art will be produced, displayed, and offered at special events such as Art Shows in a designated Art Studio located on the property. It will also offer the parents an opportunity to watch their children while being in a comfortable environment to observe. Volunteers will assist the children in creating art to be displayed. The goal is to support the children, while creating an opportunity for realizing success and satisfaction from having their work displayed for public viewing. The artwork that is featured in the Art Shows will be used both locally, nationally and internationally to provide resources for children in need. The needs are for education, housing, food, water, and to fight child trafficking.
