If you played sports as a kid, don’t you remember when you put on your team’s uniform, how it transformed you? You got a little giddy up in your step didn’t you?! Maybe you didn’t throw the ball the farthest or run the fastest, but you felt like you belonged to something and truly believed you were a superhero! This is what KidzTri3 wants to bring to kids…that feeling of being a superhero.
Founded in 2010, KidzTri3 is a 501c3 Premier Youth Multisport Organization whose goal is to inspire and motivate youth, through the sport of Triathlon and Duathlon, to develop self-confidence, physical fitness and to lead an active, positive and healthy lifestyle.
GOAL 1: SUPERHERO KIDS
To provide kids of all athletic abilities an opportunity to compete in a sport and feel like a superhero!
GOAL 2: HEALTHY KIDS
To become a catalyst for getting kids moving and providing them with the tools to take control of their life as they journey into adulthood. Accomplished by focusing on physical activity as well as good nutrition and developing healthy lifestyle.
GOAL 3: EXPANSION & GROWTH
Develop KidzTri3 Communities and KidzTri3 Schools all across the country by producing world class races and events and introducing multisport into schools as a competitive sport.
In 2011, we produced our very first KidzTri3 race at Lake Nockamixon in Quakertown PA, which had over 100 participants, the majority of which had never been to a triathlon! Today, this event continues to grow and is a destination race for many athletes and their families from across the United States.
In 2014, we produced in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, the inaugural GirlzTri.Du.Rule! Girls Only Youth Triathlon & Duathlon which had over 120 girls and almost 100 more that wanted to enter after registration closed. In 2015, we anticipate 300 girls will be racing and enjoying the experience of triathlon.
In 2015, we are adding a third race and producing our inaugural South Jersey event where we expect 300 athletes, including an adaptive youth race, and are scouting race locations in Delaware and other locations across the United States. We are launching volunteer KidzTri3 Chapters to support us in those communities where we produce events to help with community awareness, financial and volunteer support and have launched South Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania chapters.
Because we are a youth event, we are not able to charge registration fees comparable to adult events, even though they are produced in the same likeness. Therefore, we rely on corporate partners and event sponsors, but need your help to continue the momentum and help grow the organization. In addition to donating, if you want to get involved and bring KidzTri3 to your community, just let us know! Thank you so much for your donation - every bit counts.
