At 4 am this morning (5/24/17), in Redgranite, WI, John Kikendall Jr woke up 45 minutes early for work and went about his normal routine. A while later he noticed the heat radiating from breezeway and quickly woke everyone to get out of the house. A garage panel shorted with a rampant rage of fire engulfing everything in it's path. Thankfully, John, Tamie, Greg, Rachel, and the two dogs (Genghis & Sable) were able to escape the fire with minimal damage. They are still searching for their family cat (Sophie). This house was built in 1970 by the beloved John Kikendall who passed March 30, 1996. This home has been a family heirloom. As devastating as it is to lose the home you grew up in, it's even more devastating seeing the home your dad built burn down to the ground with all it's family treasures. The Kikendall family recently lost the heart of their family on March 3, 2015. Virginia Kikendall, John's mom, had a short battle with cancer. They lost her irreplaceable treasures in this devastating fire. We're asking for help to replace some basic necessities as everything is a loss. The Kikendall's only have what they escaped with. Please find it in your heart to help this family out. Your generosity is much appreciated.
