This July, a small group of friends is setting off on a journey with a purpose…. The plan is to climb all 19,341 feet of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free standing mountain in the world, and in so doing to raise awareness and support for the mission of Young Life Expeditions in Africa.
Bridging the Gap:
YL Africa Expeditions serves as the bridge that connects communities at home with Young Life's mission across Africa. Over the course of each year, they host trips that offer the opportunity to experience the heartbeat of Africa by serving in mission outreach efforts, working alongside local African staff & volunteers in the communities where they live.
The vision for these trips is that they would target the greatest needs identified by YL Africa staff on the ground in the respective host country… including any number of community service & development projects such as leadership training, village medical clinics, outreach projects, school development, or water wells.
As we continue working to Bridge the Gap, we're given a glimpse of the Kingdom of God. Together, we are becoming one community: one in spirit, one in purpose, a Family that spans color, cultures, & continents.
We invite you to climb with us!
Supporting this work of building friendships across cultures and continents is strategic for both Africa and America. We welcome your interest as well as support for the mission --our goal is to raise a dollar/foot for the climb—or $19, 341! Please note we are not raising support for our trip, those expenses are covered. So, every dollar our team raises will go directly to help Young Life Africa Expeditions.
