The Kilung Foundation supports the work of H.E. Dza Kilung Tulku Jigme Rinpoche, the fifth incarnation of Jigme Ngotsar Gyatso in bringing humanitarian aid to Dzachuka in East Tibet, a region renowned for many enlightened Buddhist masters over the last thousand years, and answering the call for Buddhist teachings in the West. For centuries, the Tibetan form of Budhism has been sustained by the indigenous culture of Dzachuka, Kham, East Tibet. In return, Kilung Foundation works to accomplish compassionate and practical actions that benefit the people, animals and land of Dzachuka by strengthening the Tibetan culture of the region, rebuilding and enlivening the community, improving the economic and cultural viability of the people, and revitalizing both sacred and secular aspects of Tibetan life. Working locally with tribal leaders and government officials to ensure that projects are locally originated, the foundation identifies, prioritizes and develops worthy initiatives for the community.
