Commitment to Caring
Hi - I'm Kimberly. I will be swimming in the NYAD Swim for Relief event in NYC to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. It's only been 1 year since Sandy's devastation and there is still much restoration to be done. My heart goes out to all communities who have suffered loss and hardship. This is my small way to bring hope and support.
Diana Nyad's life-long goal to swim from Cuba to the shore of Key West was reached on her 5th attempt after swimming 52 hours, 54 minutes and 18.6 seconds. (yup, those 18 seconds count). Her story and message have truly penetrated my heart - and I know many others who are inspired as well. I am honored to swim aside her for just a short time during her 48 hour swim at Manhattan's Herald Square.
Thank you Diana for showing us what it means to dream and for demonstrating how we can "Find a Way" and set out for the "Other Shore".
Donations are tax-deductible. All proceeds will go to AmeriCares.
Thank you for lending your support -- Kimberly
