BENEFITING: Interfaith Social Services Inc.
I am serving on the planning committee for the Interfaith Social Services Feed the Hungry Gala.
Interfaith Social Services is the LARGEST food pantry on the South Shore, serving thousands of families from Milton to Cohasset. In addition to helping put food on tables, Interfaith Social Services volunteers provide essential services for their clients, including mental health counseling and emergency housing - they even put together backpacks or find Halloween costumes for kids whose families just don't have the money for such "luxuries."
Interfaith helps thousands of local South Shore families. Nearly 700 people in Hingham, Cohasset Scituate and Hull received assistance last year, and more than half were children and seniors.
We are raising money towards our Feed the Hungry Gala, which will be held on December 9, 2016 at the Granite Links Country Club. The Gala is the primary fundraising event for Interfaith Social Services - it provides at least 1/3 of the budget. More and more, these donations are critical to ensuring service doesn't go uninterrupted for people who need it.
