Kimberly,

I am so humbled and honored that you chose to support my fundraiser and helped me to reach my goal. It's people like you that have inspired me to do more for the NFXF than I have ever done in any of previous non-profit jobs.

I am thankful to be part of this community, but especially thankful to be part of this great team.

Thank you so much for contributing to my fundraising efforts on behalf of Fragile X.

The National Fragile X Foundation’s mission is to unite the Fragile X community to enrich lives through educational and emotional support; promote public and professional awareness; and advance research toward improved treatments and a cure for Fragile X.

The Funds raised through the Let ‘Em Know 5k awareness campaign go directly to support this mission nationally through the Foundation and locally through the Community Support Network. Managed by the National Fragile X Foundation (NFXF) the Community Support Network (CSN) is a nationwide network of dedicated volunteer groups. These groups connect families through activities with parents, caregivers, siblings and professionals who understand the daily issues of living with Fragile X. CSN affiliates around the country also host educational seminars both large and small for families and professionals within their community, provide financial assistance to families to attend events and Fragile X related conferences, and advocate on behalf of the Fragile X community both nationally and locally.

The Greater Atlanta CSN does just that, often times partnering with the Fragile X clinic right here in Atlanta at Emory University. We have hosted family gatherings, fundraising events, provide referrals to professionals in our area to assist families in getting their needs addressed in regards to Fragile X treatment, supported the International Fragile X conference and have sent folks to National Fragile X Advocacy Day. We have connected families throughout Georgia and are working to create more awareness within the educational and medical/healthcare communities.

Your contribution will go a long way in supporting these efforts which will have an impact on individuals like my son and families dealing with Fragile X.

Thank you for making a difference!

Stuff About Me:

In 2004, my son Andrew was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome.  It started me on a journey that I continue to travel each and every day.  This journey has led me to unchartered territory in both the educational and medical world.  Along the way I have been fortunate to have met and developed relationships with Fragile X professionals and specialists across the country.  They have provided support, guidance and an array of knowledge that helps me make educated and informed decisions about what is in the best interest of my son.  The most amazing fact about this journey though is the wonderful and caring families and faces of those with Fragile X that have become my extended family. They provide support, courage and love when you least expect it and do not know you need it. I was welcomed into a community of individuals that has the biggest heart and more determination than I have seen in most non-profit organizations. You see I am a non-profit professional by trade.  With 20 years in the field, this Fragile X community is like no other I have experienced.  I am proud to now have the opportunity to merge both my professional experience and passion to a cause that directly affects my son and my family.  Please consider supporting me as I help to raise Fragile X Awareness this July with the "Let 'Em Know" 5K.  You can support this effort by either making a donation to my page or starting your own fundraising page.  Either way, please consider sharing this link with your network and help us "Let 'Em Know" about Fragile X.

If you wish to join us for the virtual 5k (date to be annouced later) you will also need to register in order to receive your own Let 'Em Know t-shirt and race bib.

If you would like to get more information on Fragile X please contact me or go to our website at www.fragilex.org

Thank you for your support!
