King's Medical Care And Rehabilitation Cause
Organized by: Nora Ortiz
King is a 1 year old pitbull that we rescued from a pitbull fighting ring last year based out of Lakeland,Fla. King was 6 weeks old when we rescued him. He was extremely sick with all kinds of worms, lethargic. and we noticed something was wrong with his hips by the way he sat and walked. We spent over $1200 on King at Busch Animal Hospital getting him better due to the worms, and trying to figure out what was done to him that made him walk and sit so weirdly with his legs straight to the back. King turned 1 year in January 2016 and now that he is 58 pounds, his hips and legs have only gotten worse. I took him and had xrays done in April due to the fact that he was not wanting to walk and when he did walk.. it was only on 3 legs. The vet gave us bad news telling us that King has cruciates disease in both knees and his hips did not grow properly. King will need 5 surgeries to get him out of constant pain and be able to live a normal life. He had his 1st surgery in April on the right knee. Now he will need to have his left knee repaired then have metal plates put in both hips. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay Wellness Hospital has been very kind in helping us pay for the surgeries at a much lower cost than a normal vets office. Unfortuetly, We have run out of funding. King is our baby boy and is like one of our children. He had a very rough start from birth due to where he came from and now because of that situation... he has physical health issues. Without the surgeries King will not be able to walk again at this point. I'm desperately asking for the communities help to help us get King thru all of this. Total cost of all 5 surgeries is a little over $8,000. That includes the surgeries, and rehab. If you can please fin it in your heart to donate to my baby boys surgery care it would be a blessing much appreciated. I refuse to put my baby boy down due to a disability that can be fixed by the surgery.
