BENEFITING: THE MACCANOW FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: May 26, 2013
Hello Everyone - As many of you know I have been participating in endurance events for most of my life, and people have always asked why would I do such things as Ironman, Ultra marathons or any other endurance events. My answer is simple, I race for those who cannot. Those individuals who were born with health conditions, developed health conditions in their lifetime or those veterans returning from combat who have lost of piece of them. As a military veteran I have seen firsthand the challenges they face when returning home. These are the things that are constantly going through my head when I'm training on my bike in my basement, running in the middle of the night in the dead of winter, or in the pool swimming countless laps year round. These are the thoughts that fuel me to keep putting one hand in front of the other during the swim, one pedal in front of the other during the bike and one foot in front of the other during the run.
I'm reaching out to you all to help me in raising money for the MaccaNow foundation which provides assistance to families who are in active treatment for breast cancer in order to lessen the financial burdens and improve their quality of life.
