Pure Water Cure
Organized by: David Gonzalez
Event Name: Keep Supporting CGI U Commitments
AMOUNT RAISED IN PREVIOUS ROUND: $460
Most people in the community ¨La Mosquitia¨ do not have potable water. They drink water from man-made communal small wells near where water flows. This water is not treated, which causes many health problems, such as diarrhea, stomachaches, and headaches. Parasites are also an issue. Some people use chlorine to sanitize the water.
My CGI University Commitment to Action - Pure Water Cure - is to bring potable water to the community of La Mosquitia, Sonsonate in El Salvador. We will reach this goal by building bio-sand water filters for approximately twenty families in the area, solving some of the health issues produced by contaminated water.
