On March 25th, 2015 the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will hold its largest fundraiser to date! (go to www.bgcwpa.org/kissapig for more detials!)
* THE EVENT: Our Great Futures Gala, aboard the Gateway Clipper is sure to be a night to remember. It will include the announcement of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania’s Youth of the Year and a huge competition among our candidates.
* HOW IT WORKS: Respected community leaders and friends of the Club are signing up to support our mission and raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania. The top three contestants whose “piggy bank” is the fullest (the ones who raise the most money) will be named at the Great Futures Gala and will then Kiss A Pig! (Her name is Nola and she is an adorable house pet who lives right here in Pittsburgh!) All funds raised will go directly to supporting our efforts in the community to best serve the young people and give them every opportunity towards a Great Future.
• WHY? Parents, kids and the community rely on the Club during out of school time. We currently serve over 7,000 young people per year with life enhancing programs but we can’t do it alone. We need help to raise funds to open more doors to deserving youth in the community and fulfill our mission to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We have been providing services to young people for over 125 years and with the help of our candidates, we will continue!
Meet Nola the Mini Pig!
Hi! I'm Nola and I'm a Miniature Juliana Pig. I was born in Florida two years ago and was adopted by my wonderful family and live in their home as their pet right here in Pittsburgh. (I have the best life). My hobbies include playing with my toys, eating, sleeping, cuddling and going for walks! I'm pretty much full-grown and weigh about 45 lbs.
I am so excited to be the chosen one for this competition that supports the kids in the Clubs in Western Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh is my home too, and I really care about the kids! By donating to the Club or by fundraising yourself, you will help hundreds, if not thousands of kids in the local community have the best chance at their own GREAT Future. Although my mom and dad don’t approve of me dating just yet, they are willing to let me kiss a special person for a great cause. I am glad to have the opportunity to do my part and I hope you do yours by helping the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania today. P.S. I will personally be making a contribution to support the Club too!
