I've been "crossing the line since '79" with running. It was also a few short years later in 1982 that I was first introduced to the word "sarcoid", although I didn't realize the impact it would have on my family. My father was diagnosed with this illness and endured both setbacks and rebounds and even a prolonged remission period before again before thrust back into a daily battle with this illness. He eventually succumbed to it at the young age of seventy. Throughout his illness, my father remained hopeful that a cure or break through in treatment would come to fruition and it is with this continued hope that I would like to do what I can to advance research so that others may benefit. My father was not defined by this illness. It didn't take away from his duties over the years as a husband, father, son, brother, church member/leader, co-worker and a few other definitive titles he was known by. It did however have an impact. Please, share in this fundraising venture with me to keep striving for more research, information and at best, a cure.
