Stuff About Me:

Philanthropy has always been an important part of my life. I was raised in a small town in Pennsylvania where my family owned the local drug store. My parents felt it was so important to be an active member of the community, and never turned down the opportunity to sponsor the local baseball teams and PTA fundraisers. We spent our holiday season gathering food for Thanksgiving dinners for local shelters, and wrapping presents for children at the Salvation Army.

It wasn't until my passion for International philanthropy ignited in 9th grade as a member of the Youth Advisory Committee at the Berks County Community Foundation (BCCF). I ventured on a two week trip to Russia, where it opened my eyes to how important international development was. Years later I spent a more significant time abroad in Tanzania, where it was clear to me what I was supposed to do with my life.

Your donation to my campaign is not just $1 - thanks to the generosity of Root Capital board chair, Jeremy Mindich and long-time partner Keurig Green Mountain, $1.5M of our Anniversary gifts will be matched dollar for dollar.
