THE STORY:

I am joining this year's Save 1000 Kitties campaign in honor of my minion Too Much Sugar Ray! Too Much Sugar Ray is a 12 year old big puddle of love whose owner had fed nothing but dry food for years and years. He was also let outside, where his submissive and altogether non-street-cat attitude got him beat up by the local strays. One day, his owner noticed he had some war wounds that just weren't healing and took him to the vet to have him checked out. What he found out was that Ray was now FIV positive as a result of one of the attacks that had been made on him. His owner wasn't too concerned about the FIV status, but he also found out that Ray was diabetic and needed insulin shots twice a day. The needles are super small and Ray is the best patient ever. But his owner didn’t want to give shots, so told the vet to euthanize sweet Ray instead :(. Can you imagine your family wanting to have you killed just because you became diabetic? Neither could we - so we took Ray in to foster care and worked with our vet to get his diabetes stabilized.

Medical care for Too Much Sugar Ray has come to $1353.00, which is my goal for this fundraiser! Many people and organizations overlook a cat like Ray because he's senior and special needs and cats like this aren't the fastest to fly out of the cage at adoption events. But Kitten Rescue recognizes that every cat has a right to live out his or her days in peace and love and being diabetic isn't a good reason to euthanize an awesome cat (or any cat, for that matter). Please donate to help Kitten Rescue save more awesome cats like Too Much Sugar Ray.

Your $5.00 donation pays for Ray's FVRCP vaccination.

Your $10.00 donation pays for his de-worming and de-fleaing.

I can't imagine how anyone could choose to euthanize a beloved family member with a perfectly treatable disease. Heck, it is even reversible! Thank you Kitten Rescue and thank you Santito and your mama! The work you do is priceless. 2 years ago
