EVENT DATE: Nov 29, 2016
1 in 3 women die of heart disease in the United States, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined.
Wrap a woman in your life in love and join us for Knitting Tuesday on November 29, 2016!
Created in 2005 by two women heart disease survivors, HeartScarves is a program that distributes handmade, red scarves to women diagnosed with heart disease - the leading cause of death in women.
Symbolizing the lifelines of support among women with heart disease, each volunteer handcrafted scarf - delivered by a heart disease survivor - comforts, supports, and encourages a woman in her healing journey.
"It’s love that wraps around and keeps you warm. It’s a symbol that we belong together….We won’t have to fight another day alone." -HeartScarves recipient Jenny Ward
