Event Name: Benefit Poker Run/Party for Jason
Sometimes life is rough. Sometimes life is upsetting. Sometimes life is downright unfair. But we have to push through it. That's exactly what my father Jason did in 2010 when he first got diagnosed with stage IV Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Like always, he was strong and pushed through; he won the battle! Unfortunately the cancer has returned.
We found out after a normal pet scan checkup visit. The follow up appointment which was two months exactly after buying our first home together (07-14-14) showed stage III Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, with it being in his chest, abdomen, and his spleen. Did we want this or phantom the idea of this happening again? No. Are we going to let cancer take control? No! Are we going to make cancer run for the hills? Heck yes!
The reason why I'm putting my father on this site is because we really need your help. My father is going to have to endure chemotherapy (first treatment 07-28-14) and a stem cell transplant. If anyone knows the recovery process of a stem cell transplant, then they know it can take months of being pretty much in isolation. He will have to go away to either VCU or Duke University for his treatment.
Please donate to help this incredible man with a daughter, an 18 month old son, and a wife. This will not only go to helping with his medical expenses, but a portion will also be donated to the His Relay for Life Team for the American Cancer Society.
Everyone has an infinity, some shorter than others, but we are determined to make his as long as possible! This star will NOT go out just because a horrible sickness stands in the way of a plentiful, long, and happy life!
Love will break this curse!!
