BENEFITING: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2012
For those of you who know me well; you know how much I hate to run. January 1st of this year I began running in order to sacrifice and pay tribute. I will run my first half marathon in a couple weeks and a full marathon this summer with this in mind. I am raising money for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. All donations will be donated to ALSA.org.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. ALS is a slow moving disease that not only affects the individual but their loved ones as well.
For those of you who have known someone with ALS, whether it was a public figure (Steve Gleason - Who Dat Nation) or a loved one, you know how devastating this disease can be. There is no known cure for ALS. All donations will be donated to ALSA.org. ALSA helps fund research to find treatments and a cure for ALS.
So please donate today, any amount would be appreciated.
