BENEFITING: Susan G. Komen Orange County
ORGANIZER: Susan G. Komen Orange County
My sister Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years ago and underwent cancer treatment. She is now cancer free, but it was a long painful journey.
Cancer is an awful disease and it is very difficult to see someone you love go through the treatment and recovery. Running this marathon is challenging for me, but it is nothing compared to going through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
I am raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and ask that you make a donation to this good cause.
I suggest you donate $1 per mile that I run in The OC Marathon (26.2 miles) or just give what you can afford.
Why Donate to Komen Orange County?
Komen Orange County is committed to serving women and saving lives by providing mammography screening and breast cancer diagnostic assistance, breast health education, awareness and support programs to uninsured/underserved women in our community. With your donation, they are able to help women who would otherwise not have access to mammograms and breast health care.
75% of the funds raised stay in Orange County; 25% goes into Komen-funded breast cancer research.
I look forward to a challenging 26.2 miles on May 3rd, 2015 and hope to get your cheers and support!
Thank you for your donation.
