Kory and Dawn
Organized by: Kory Freudenberg
We met Cinco de Mayo in 2006, very soon after I knew she was the one I wanted to spend my life with. I proposed on the beach and since then we have done everything a couple wants to do with their lives; house with a fence, one dog, one cat, one little girl, one little boy and a very happy home. The only thing we really want now is a wedding...and now, legally we can! We would love to finally get married on (or around) our 10 year anniversary but affording to celebrate is out of reach. Just like everyone we have had our ups and downs...long story short just when we thought we were right on track I injured my back and needed multiple surgeries eventually ending up on disability and then unemployment. It wouldn't have been so bad if my partner wasn't right in the middle of completing her Masters of Nursing Degree and only able to work part time. We kept it together though...for the most part, but ran through our savings to ensure our children wouldn't know what tough times we were really having. This is why marrying her is so important, not only is it a historical mile stone in our country but to us an even bigger mile stone in our relationship. Ten years, we have had the good times and bad, the better and worse and our love has never been stronger. Now to legitimize our lives as not only her and I but with our children legally having two parents and the four of us becoming a family in the eyes of the law.
