We are a civil society organization/self-help group in Pokot North, Kenya that is working to address challenges facing the Pokot people in four key areas: Education, Environment, Gender, and Conflict Resolution. We have recently been partnering with a larger Kenyan NGO called UWEZO to provide staff training for community members working with UWEZO to conduct research and surveys on child education in the whole country. Krakow has assumed the role as UWEZO's partner in Pokot North -West Pokot County. Some of the main project animators are retired teachers, chiefs, paralegals and social workers. Mr. Romanos Chizupo from Krakow was the 2011 UWEZO coordinator of the year. He won the award for his skill and involvement in carrying out the research.
