Kristen's Beach Bachelorette
Organized by: Elizabeth Foreman
September 11, 2016
EVENT DATE Sep 16, 2016
Hello and welcome Friends,
One way or another, you've most likely stumbled upon this page because of your love for Kristen. As you may know, she and Greg are tying the knot this October in Hammond, Louisiana, and it's sure to be a great celebration for everyone involved.
She has been fortunate to study, work, and live in many different places, resulting in close friendships all over the country... and world! To say that wedding planning has been challenging in her circumstances would be an understatement. She has foregone most of the traditional wedding gatherings (e.g. Engagement Party, Bridal/Couples Showers) and even some conventions (e.g. Bridal and Grooms Parties) in favor of having as many of you attend the wedding as possible.
While I know that Kristen will be happy just to see your smiling faces this fall, I also know she would love to have one last celebration with her favorite people. So, I gathered a list of names and starting planning. I found out very quickly just how much her friends care about her and want to help in some way. So many people were excited to attend Kristen's Beach Bachelorette party that I knew this dream was alive! Like most dreams, however, it hit some roadblocks. Not surprisingly, it's actually really difficult to find a calendar date which accomodates multiple adult's personal schedules.
What started out as a potential Gulf invasion (approximately 20 females), has turned into more of a battle rally. Nonetheless, we have gathered a group of five individuals to take our Bride to Orange Beach, Alabama this year on September 16-18. It'll be an incredibly short trip, with Kristen flying in from San Jose, California early on Friday, and returning Sunday afternoon. It's also going to be fairly expensive. Including her airfare, lodgings, food, [all of the] drinks, and entertainment... it's going to cost $1,000 to make this trip happen for Kristen.
Originally, trip attendees were fully prepared to cover the additional expenses. However, the number of people actually able to attend has resulted in the cost being somewhat unrealistic for the remaining ladies to cover alone. That's where you can help!
I'm proposing a bridal sponsorship program, where any interested individuals can become an official sponsor of Kristen's bachelorette experience. All trip attendees are still responsible for their own travel, lodging, and expenses, so your contribution will directly fund the Bride's fun and debauchery. When she orders a shot? - you purchased that. When she eats a nacho? - you're responsible for keeping her alive. When she sings 'Loveshack' loudly to unsuspecting vacationers? - well, that's on you, too.
"Yeah, but what do I get out of this?" I'm glad you asked. In addition to having the knowledge that you helped a friend be able to attend her own bachelorette party, you will be publicly acknowledged for your service. Your participation will earn your name's inclusion on the contribution list, which will be featured prominently throughout the weekend. For example, whenever there is a spread of food set out, lunches packed, or a drink mixing area designated, there will be a placard reminding Kristen and everyone else that it is sponsored by you (the completely amazing friends who could not be here today). Also in return for your gift, you will be invited to participate in the epic, social media drinking game taking place concurrently with Kristen's celebration on Friday, September 16th. Cocktails, Karaoke, and Hashtags, Oh my! That's right. Whenever we drink... you drink... and we'll Tweet our "progress" throughout the night.
So there you have it. You're definitely being solicited for money. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to read this novel, and also stress to you all that there is no pressure for you to participate! Please contact me directly if you have any questions or want to contribute in a different way.
Take care folks, and love each other.
