Kristen's Senior Trip
Organized by: Pleasant Vonnoh
Thank you for considering supporting Kristen as she raises money for her senior trip, which will take place in March 2015.
This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She and her peers will first travel to Rome where she will walk through the Catacombs of San Sebastiano, visit Tre Fontane, where Apostle Paul was beheaded and more. The group will also visit the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. They will travel to Imperial Rome where they will visit many places, including the Mamertina Prison, where it is believed that both Peter and Paul were imprisoned.
On day 5 of the trip the group will arrive in Thessaloniki, Greece which is the second city Paul visited on his second missionary journey. Over the next few days they will see many amazing sights such as the underground tomb of King Philip II, Father of Alexander the Great, Mt. Olympus, Meteora, Byzantine monasteries, the Temple of Apollo and the Temple of Poseidon. On day 9 they will spend a day exploring, cruising and swimming in the beautiful Aegean Sea. On day 10 she and the group will visit the ancient city of Corinth and the ancient church at Cenchreae. They will have an orientation to the ancient Greek games and will gain understanding to the historical context of the epistle to the Corinthians and the significance of the athletic language of the Apostle Paul. They will have a lifetime experience of Biblical history and archaeology.
The group will return to Athens where they will serve in a homeless shelter. They will have the opportunity to minister through songs, sharing of testimonies and then serving food to the homeless people of downtown Athens. The gospel will also be shared by local missionaries. There are 100-150 people who come weekly to this program. Some are refugees (Muslim and Hindu background) and some are destitute Greeks.
They will finish up the trip by visiting Mars Hill and the Acropolis and souvenir shopping in the famous location of Plaka.
Thank you SO much for your donation and the difference you are making in Kristen's life.
